So, apparently August 9th was Book Lovers Day. How did I miss a WHOLE day set aside for bibliophiles?

One of my favorite features in Southern Soil is The Bookworm: reading the best and weeding the rest. I don’t get a lot of feedback from readers on this one, so I’m not sure how many people actually enjoy this feature, but I can promise you that I’ll keep writing it.

Why? Because it’s my excuse to add to my book collection and to read books about farming, gardening, herbal medicine, foraging, permaculture, cooking, and so many other things that make my heart happy!

But I do really hope that you will read The Bookworm articles and hopefully discover some really great books that you too will enjoy! To date, I have reviewed: Rosemary Gladstone’s Medicinal Herbs; Street Farm; How to Grow a School Garden; Molly’s Organic Farm; Hunt, Gather, Cook; Epitaph for a Peach; Cultivating Food Justice; The Seed Underground: A Growing Revolution to Save Seed; and Soul, a Chef’s Culinary Evolution in 150 Recipes!
